My first recollection of art activities as a young girl was a passion for drawing and painting horses. I was absolutely besotted about horses. My first employment was working in stables with horses and dogs where I stayed until the business closed.

I was accepted to study art at the Leicester College of Art and later at Coventry College of Art where I experienced working in oil painting, sculpture and printmaking. I became interested in figurative painting on a large scale working in oils and charcoal. My subjects included life portraits, animals, seascapes, landscapes and still life. I enjoy using a wide variety of media.

I am a member of Leicester Print Workshop where I experience etching, aquatint, lithography, lino cutting and silk screen printing. I enjoy all experimental aspects of oil painting.

I have attended evening classes in life-painting and portraiture, and summer school - including the St Ives School of Painting in Cornwall, which was to contribute greatly to my development as an artist.

I have been a regular exhibitor in all FPAA exhibitions. I also belong to the Nottingham Society of Artists, the Leicestershire Pastel Society and the Leicester Print Workshop.

As well as my great love for art, I am interested in saving old buildings which are threatened with demolition.
