Robert Pearce

My interest in painting first started at school when I helped the art master to paint the scenery backdrops for the school play. My love of art then developed through visiting art galleries in the UK and Europe.

In the 1970s I started exhibiting my paintings at local art clubs and also farther afield. In the 1980s I had a very successful exhibition at John Black’s gallery in Wellingborough.

I also ran a framing and restoration business for many years, and have framed many works by local artists. I was a teacher of picture framing at Wellingborough college for several terms, and made many friends there.

I am now retired, so able to paint full time. I gain most of my inspiration from walking my dogs across the fields and along the banks of the river Ise near my home in Burton Latimer. I was a founder member of the FPAA.
